Emergency Response and Planning
John has broad experience related to emergency and incident response from his time in both industry and the Tasmanian EPA. His roles with the EPA included providing advice to EPA incident response officers, and external agencies such as the Tasmanian Fire Service and Parks and Wildlife Service to assist in emergencies. He has a clear understanding of how incidents are managed using the Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System (AIIMS), and how external organisations fit into this structure, and the constraints that emergency response organisations have during an active response.

Project Management
Within industry and as a consultant with a national consultancy, John has successfully managed a wide range of projects with complex issues that required working to tight timeframes and incorporating advice from a wide range of specialists.

Environmental Assessment
John has conducted a wide range of assessments of potential and actual environmental impact related to fire suppression products, industrial discharges, and activities such as dredging.

Waste Management
John has worked extensively in the area of the circular economy, and sustainable use of resources, both within government and industry.
